Chapter I: The Clash
"Good morning." I greeted my Mom when my feet touched the last step of the staircase
"Good morning Lauren. Where’s Priam?"
"Still asleep"
I answered her question and joined her for breakfast. Mom is a very busy person that’s why seeing her inside the house early this morning, plus the fact that she is having breakfast with me is an odd sight. She’s always out of town or such that’s why when she is at home, I just don’t let that day pass by without hanging out with Mom.
After I ate my breakfast I got ready for school. I was about to go when I saw Priam. Unfortunately, he’s my brother, who is running down the stairs. He is now wearing his uniform and is currently putting on his shoes while jumping down the stairs.
"Sis! Wait!" he shouted and I just rolled my eyes and stood there to wait for him
"Mom! We’ll get going!" I shouted to Mom who is now inside the kitchen probably exploring the kitchen now that she has a lot of time on her hands
"Okay! Be safe on your way to the academy. Love you two!" Mom shouted back and we both said our reply to her
I opened the car and sat on the backseat while Priam sat on the shot gun seat. We we’re well off that’s why my brother and I have a service car that drives us to and from the academy. My Mom owns a company that she built from scratch and is now doing well in the industry. We weren’t the richest but I can say that we’re rich.
I felt that the car stopped and Priam went down first. I was about to open the door on my left when it opened. I saw Priam standing beside the door, smiling at me. I know this, he needs something from me. I went out and Priam is still smiling like a dog. I sighed in defeat.
"What do you need?" I asked and his smile grew bigger
"Warn all my fan girls that if they don’t stop from stalking, sending me gifts and etc., you’ll send them to the Guidance Office because of invasion of privacy." he said and smiled again
"Fine. I’ll send them a letter"
"Thanks Sis!"
He shouted so loud so I moved a few steps back so that I won’t hear his annoying voice. I just nodded at him and started to walk. Priam on the other hand walked to the left side of the high school campus because that is where his room is located.
When I was walking on the hallway of our building I heard noises at the back part so I went there. Curiosity got the best of me so I checked it out myself. There I saw five girls shouting all at the same time.
"You nerd, didn’t I ordered you to do my homework?! Now I got to clean the girls comfort room because of you!" I heard the girl said and I saw a girl who is now crying because of the mean girls physically assaulting her
I looked at the ID of the other girls and listed it on my notebook. When I’m done I faked a cough. They turn their heads towards my direction and their expressions changed.
"Please proceed to the guidance office." I mumbled and they ran fast as they can to avoid the lecturing they were about get from me
How unfortunate, I was about to scold them because of their skirts that are shorter than my patience. They were clearly against the academy rules and a punishment awaits them if I see them wearing those skirts again.
After that not so interesting event, I walked my way to my room. I don’t want to be late for class. And class starts at seven.
The class ended briefly after the teachers got an urgent meeting. We were dismissed earlier than expected. That means we have more time for lunch break. Samina and I walked our way to the cafeteria where we always have our lunch. When we entered, I never knew what trouble awaits me inside of that cafeteria.
"Oooh. Mr. Troublemaker is back!" Samina cooed into my ears and she was smirking while looking at the guy in the middle of the cafeteria who is currently causing the chaos
There stood, Mr. Troublemaker. His name is Carl Marvin Chua but students call him with that name. There’ll be no day without him on the Guidance Office. Tsk.
"That’s what you get for spilling juice at me!" he shouted at the girl crying and apologizing to him
I couldn’t help but shake my head. He was so immature for a high school student. So immature that if you do something that doesn’t benefit him, he’ll target you and make your life miserable than ever.
"Mr. Carl Marvin Chua, Mr. Chris Owen Andres and Mr. Priam Lawrence Villegas, to the Guidance Office"
They looked at me as if I just said a very funny joke. They never took my punishment seriously. They think highly of themselves.
"Never knew that you were a good joker too, Miss Pres."
"I don’t like compliments, Mr. Chua." I said through gritted teeth and smiled despite being annoyed with him
"Oh, I thought-----" before he could even insult me, I interrupted him
"See you at the office." I said and left Samina in the cafeteria to talk with the Committee of Discipline in accordance with what Carl and his friends did
After the committee gave me the punishment, I headed to the office where Carl and his friends were. I slowly opened the door and saw the three of them sitting face to face.
"Good afternoon." I started and sat in front of them to deliver the consequence they had to face because of their reckless action
"The Committee of Discipline hereafter said: you three should clean all the bathrooms in the elementary campus. You’ll be doing that for only one week. If you refuse to do it, you’ll face suspension. Is it suspension or cleaning? It’s all on you, any objections?"
"What if I don’t choose between the choices, Miss President? What are you going to do?" Carl said that got through my nerves
"Why? Are you that confident that your Daddy will help you with this punishment?" I asked and he smirked at me annoyingly
"What if my Dad helps me out?"
"Just stop being arrogant. We all know that your Dad doesn’t care about you, even an inch." that was my last bullet in hand that made his fist curled
I know how he hated the fact that his Dad only cared about his business and not him. That was the last straw which I knew that would piss him off. He had the guts to against my words, so he got to accept the consequence.
