Chapter III: Annoying Stranger
"Mom, please just let me change into my dress in peace." I begged my Mom who is inside my room bothering me while I get change
Today was Aunt Carlisle’s birthday. She’s Mom’s best friend and my favorite Aunt. We were getting ready for the party peacefully not until Mom barged inside my room suggesting me to change my dress.
Mom is a part time fashion designer. That’s why she freaks out whenever we attend these kinds of events. She badly wants to show of her skills when it comes to clothing that is why she’s here helping me prep up for the party.
A makeup artist came this afternoon to do our makeup. Mom also hired a hair stylist to do my hair for the party. Now my hair is done in a pancake bun of braids which is aesthetically pretty because of the diamond like pins the stylist put on my hair.
For Aunt Carlisle’s party, I chose to wear a blue cocktail dress that goes perfectly with the silver ankle strap heels that I wore. I brought a purse and so as Mom. The party will start in the Chua’s hotel hall. They chose to celebrate Auntie’s party with the public but I heard that the family’s close friends will have a post celebration at Chua residence.
Priam was with us silently sitting in the limousine that’ll escort us to the hotel. Mom was so excited for the party that she couldn’t stop on talking on the way there. A few minutes passed and we arrived. The hotel was lit up in a very luxurious manner. Many expensive cars and limo was parked in the parking lot.
I bet many people came to celebrate with Auntie Carlisle.
I walked beside my Mom and Priam was beside me He was silently holding his gift for Auntie. When Mom spotted Auntie Carlisle’s table, we quickly walked to that direction. The round table consisted, Auntie, Uncle Martin and Carl who clearly doesn’t want to be at the party.
"Carlisle!" my Mom enthusiastically called her attention
"Oh my! Pauline, it’s nice to see you. I have been waiting for your arrival." they exchange greetings and Mom sat beside Aunt
"It’s been so long since we last saw each other. How are you doing, Carlisle?"
"I’ve been doing well. How about you? And oh, where’s Lauren?"
"Happy birthday, Auntie." I greeted her and handed her my gift when she looked for me
She kissed my cheeks and smiled at me like I was her favorite daughter. Well to be honest, I am really her favorite girl.
"Lauren, you grew up as a fine young lady. Thank you for this gift and enjoy the party, okay?"
"Yes, Auntie. I’ll enjoy your party." I gave her a smile before sitting down beside my Mom
We had dinner after that and the oldies engaged themselves into a conversation all about their businesses. Priam and Carl went somewhere together and I feel left out if I were to stay in the table with Mom, Aunt and Uncle Martin.
"Can I excuse myself?" I asked and Mom nodded before listening to Aunt again
I went to the buffet table where many dishes were served. I got myself an iced tea and went to the pool side of the hotel where there are no people. I was about to take a left turn when I bumped into someone. The iced tea spilled onto that person.
"I’m sorry!" I apologized and looked at the guy who got spilled on
His gray suit turned darker including his pants. Oh my God. What should I do?
"I’m sorry; I didn’t do that on purpose. I didn’t see you there. I’m really sorry, Mister." my face was now crumpled because I don’t what to do
"It is fine, Miss. By the way, you look like someone I know."
"My name’s Piper. I’m really sorry about your suit. It’s not light gray anymore." I bit my lip and I saw him not listening to what I was saying
"Now I remember!" he exclaimed and my brows met each other because of what he said
"You look like my future wife. What’s your name again, honey?" he said and my brain stopped from working
Did he just pull on a pick up line on me? How adorable. Mark the sarcasm.
"Its Piper. My name’s Piper." which he replied with,
“I’m Aiden. Nice to meet you, Miss Piper." we shook hands briefly and thank God someone called him, he then left and I just couldnt help but to mumble something
"So annoying."
