Chapter XX: Leadership Training

stopped over a convenience store to have an afternoon snack. "What do you like, Piper?" "I’d like a soda and a waffle." "Sure, I’ll order for us." Johnson said and I stopped him from going to give him my credit card "It’s my treat." I said and Johnson smiled before saying thank you We had a peaceful afternoon snack and went back on the road. I asked Rye where the buses where and he said that they already passed by before us. We were the last one to arrive at the training site and everybody was wearing their respective shirts. Every school has a designated color to wear in order for us to easily identify each other. We had an orientation about the rooms and all before they let us have our dinner. We were split into three. I had to go up to the fifth floor together with the other two students. Rye and Johnson were luckily on the same room and was on the seventh floor. We settled in and went to sleep. I woke up from the sound of my alarm clock. I stopped it and stretch my arms. I went inside the bathroom to do my thing and went out fresh. I was combing my hair when somebody knocked. "Piper? Breakfast is ready and Johnson wanted me to get you." I heard someone said I wore a black leggings, a pair of pink socks, white rubber shoes and a black shirt under a red hoodie before opening the door. I grabbed my phone and wallet and went outside. I wore my wireless earphones while walking. "Today will be the opening ceremony. The organizers wanted you to lead the prayer." Rye informed and I was shocked "Why would you tell me that today? I’m not prepared for this, Rye." "Come on Piper. You can do it. You always can." he complimented and showed me a thumbs up as a support "You should’ve told me that yesterday." "I was tired yesterday. Sorry." Rye apologized but I knew it wasn’t a full apology He did this on purpose. "I’m going to remember this forever Rye Irwin."
