Chapter XXIII: Secret Admirer

Mrs. Vien was very delighted after I came back to school with all those rewards I got from the leadership training. She even bought me lunch and was very happy about it. Uncle Martin also summoned me to their households to congratulate me for bringing pride to our academy and Aunt Carlisle cooked me some food together with Priam and Mom. The gifts never ended there because Uncle Martin was that happy to even consider giving me a house. But st least they settled with giving me a gift certificate. It was lunch time when I was walking the hallway when I saw Carl and his friends heading my way. I just look at them for a moment and look down because I wasn’t really up for a fight with him. With just few meters from them, his friends made way. Carl was the only one left in the middle. Some of them was facing the wall. I also heard one of them said, "Is my hair growing well? Can you count them for me?" Okay? What is happening? I looked at Carl and I don’t know but there was this awkward thing between us. His face is in its famous poker face. After a while they looked at Carl and faked a cough before pulling Carl away from me. "Carl! Snap out of it bro!" Franco shouted at him "Why are you like that?" Carl said and I don’t know if he was pertaining to me or his friends. In the end, I just shrugged it off and walked to the canteen to meet up with Samina "Piper! It’s nice seeing you after a long weekend. How are you?" Samina asked in the most cheerful way she can "I’m perfectly fine Samina. Anyway, what happened here while I’m away?" I asked "Nothing much, just the excitement for the foundation week happened here last Friday. It was awesome that you planned the foundation week while you’re in the training. You’re really the best!" "Rye and Johnson helped me with that one. No need to be amazed." "Yeah, whatever." Samina said and we ate lunch before separating ways I went on my way to the student council office to meet up with Rye. We planned on summarizing the plan for the gala night on Friday which was the most looked after event of the year. It was the best party the academy throws for the students and this year was the most important one. The academy is now a hundred years standing in the industry and it made the event more glamorous. "Miss President?" a guy student approached me He looked shy and embarrassed while looking down. "Yeah? What can I do for you?" I tenderly asked aiming not to frighten him "S-somebody......" he stuttered and his eyeglasses almost fell from his head "Hey, it’s okay. Tell me what you need. I don’t bite." I said and smiled at him although he wasn’t really looking at me "Somebody wants me to give you this!" he quickly pushed a brown paper bag on my chest which caused me to lose balance I then regained my balance quickly and gripped on the paper bag. That student was so weird. I wasn’t really the type of student everybody is scared of. They don’t really get flustered that much in front of me and they never really run away. I opened the paper bag the weird student gave me and saw a box of honey glazed donuts inside. Six donuts were inside and a note was on it. Whenever I hear your name, the sweet melodic sound of violin rushes to my ears. A sweet honey glazed donut scent tickles to my nostrils and the love that I feel for you just melts my heart entirely. My eyebrows met in the middle and a strange feeling of cringe came to me. I never really liked sweet and romantic things. I get goose bumps and I cringe too much. I just couldn’t handle those things actually. Anyways, I don’t have any choice but to bring this donuts to the office. Maybe Rye and the others would like to eat some donuts during the meeting. I was just right outside the office, when Rye came out. "Oh hey, you’re there." "Yes, Rye, I’m here. Where are you going? I’m going to start the meeting." "I was waiting for you to come. Actually, three cups of Frappuccino was left here on the doorstep of the office with the words ’Cheer Up Piper’ on it. I thought somebody was just genuinely concerned about us but when I saw the Piper, the whole theory changed." "What do you mean?" "What do I mean? It means that you have a secret admirer, Piper. This is a first!" "Shut up, Rye. Let’s just get back inside." "Yeah, sure. Don’t deny it Piper. I can also see the donuts on your hands. You might want to give me some?" "Sure. I’m giving it to you, loser." I said and shoved the box to him I then ignored what Rye was talking about and started the meeting for the gala night. Who cares about a secret admirer? I don’t have time for him even though I’d like to entertain as much guys as I want, I still don’t want to engage in those things. I’m here to enjoy my life and being in a relationship wasn’t really on my plans right now.
